Friday 7th February – we completed on #20uc.

This was not a straightforward buy renovate and sell, and this goes to show not everything goes to plan.
We originally put this on the market in July after renovation. We sold this within a few weeks even though the market was slow due to brexit.
Few weeks before exchange the new buyer pulled out giving no reason.
Did you know 1 in 3 houses fall thorough apparently. This was the first time it had happened to us and very frustrating to say the least.
So the house went back on the market and after a short time we had sold it again only to have another buyer come in offering higher than the existing offer we had agreed on.
Decision time.
We decided to go for the higher offer as they advised they could move quickly and would look to be in for Christmas.
Perfect.
Fast forward to the start of December and this did not look this was going to happen.
The so called fast in house solicitors were not so fast and any enquiries on the property were mailed by post rather than email. Frustrating to say the least and definitely tested our patience.
So during the process we met the new buyers at the property at their request to find out they wanted to do some big changes to the house we had just renovated once they had completed the purchase. This included taking down the stud wall that separated the lounge from the kitchen diner to open up the whole downstairs. Removing the carpet in the front room and replacing this with LVT so the flooring flows through kitchen/diner area, adding a shaver socket in the bedroom.
So we have now completed on the property almost 7 months after first listing it. We have quoted to do the work and awaiting to hear back from the new buyers.
